Wake commissioners approve Lake Myra County Park design

Big things are happening for eastern Wake County! The Wake County Board of Commissioners has approved the schematic design for Lake Myra County Park, a project that’s been eagerly awaited by local communities. The first phase of the park will bring a variety of features on both sides of Lake Myra. From a park center with classrooms, offices, and a fishing platform on the east side to picnic areas, restrooms, and parking on the west side. A network of trails, play areas, a disc golf course, wetlands, native plantings, and a major boardwalk across the lake will help connect it all.

This park is set to be a wonderful addition for families and outdoor enthusiasts in Wendell, Knightdale, and Zebulon, creating new ways to enjoy nature close to home.
